Asphalt Quantity (kg) = (Area (m²) × Thickness (m) × Density of Asphalt (kg/m³)) / 1000
- Area (m²): The total surface area to be paved.
- Thickness (m): The desired thickness of the asphalt layer.
- Density of Asphalt: The average density used in this calculation is 2,300 kg/m³.
It is also common practice to add a 3-5% margin of safety to account for variations in compaction, uneven surfaces, or material loss during installation.
